Hot Tub Health Benefits

Alison and Simon Bakewell have many reasons for using their hot tub for health benefits. Both have had severe health problems this decade, and the hot tub along with excellent medical staff and paramedics, have helped them still be here to discuss their story.

In 2011, Simon was struggling with breathing and covering short distances; climbing the stairs would take 20 minutes. We went to see the doctor who immediately referred him to hospital, and when at the hospital he was dashed to Papworth hospital in Cambridge for urgent tests.

After test analysis, Simon was told he had 2 months to live unless he under took a heart transplant which at the time he was too over weight to receive.

With the help of medicine and willpower Simon lost a staggering 7.5 stones (105 pounds) in just 3 weeks so was able to have this operation.

The operation took place in November 2011 and all was well until Simon, Alison and daughter Molly were walking in Leicester and Simon collapsed with a cardiac arrest. The paramedics were soon on the scene and discovered Simon dead on arrival at the scene. The Paramedics however managed to revive Simon on the road and then again after he passed away for a 2nd time in the ambulance, where again the incredible paramedics managed to bring him round.

They got Simon to hospital alive for tests where it was discovered an issue with Potassium with Simons medicine had caused the adverse reaction and twice thwarted death.

Simon recovered and was able to thank the paramedics in person which also was an opportunity for the local television company to film the event for the local itv news.

Alison was having abdominal pains and when referred to the hospital, it was discovered she had Colitis which is a painful condition of inflammation of the inner lining of the Colon.

The course of action was to have an operation where both colon and rectum were removed.

Since the operation in 2017, Alison has suffered back pain plus other muscular issues.

Day to day task became difficult and Alison has suffered severe back pain ever since.

With both Simon and Alison’s tribulations, they both felt it was time to invest in some therapy and above all enjoyment. They decided after research that a hot tub with the hydrotherapy benefits would be ideal and could fit nicely in the garden.

Molly the daughter was also keen!

The hot tub was lifted in and installed, and Simon and Alison use the hot tub 3 to 4 times a week. Since the Potassium scare Simon has to be very aware of tablets and medicines so found the natural format of hydrotherapy very rewarding for his aches and pains.  Alison also finds the hot tub comforting from her back condition.

The hot tub is now an essential part of the week for Simon, Alison & Molly. Hydrotherapy apart, the hot tub brings them all together so they sit as a family and relax.

Simon and Alison have no hesitation in recommending a hot tub for health benefits and Molly is also happy as she will be celebrating her 18thbirthday with a hot tub party next year.

Both Simon and Alison have a different perspective on life after their experience and want to enjoy life more. The hot tub is one part of achieving this goal and have only positives on the investment they made.
