Maintain clean, clear, and sanitised water in your hot tub with Bromine Granules for Hot Tubs. These fast dissolving granules are designed specifically for spas and hot tubs, offering a reliable and effective alternative to chlorine. Bromine is ideal for hot tubs because it remains stable and effective even at high temperatures, ensuring long-lasting protection against bacteria, algae, and other contaminants.

Unlike chlorine, Bromine Granules produce a milder odour, making your hot tub experience more enjoyable. They provide consistent sanitisation, are less affected by pH fluctuations, and are perfect for hot tub owners who want a more user-friendly and gentle solution for water care. The granules quickly dissolve in water, providing immediate results without the harsh chemical smell that comes with chlorine.

Product Benefits:

  • Effective sanitisation: Bromine Granules eliminate bacteria, viruses, and algae, keeping your hot tub water clean and safe for use.

  • Ideal for high-temperature water: Bromine remains stable in hot water, making it the perfect choice for hot tubs and spas where chlorine breaks down faster.

  • Milder odour than chlorine: Unlike chlorine, bromine has a much milder scent, enhancing your soaking experience without the strong chemical smell.

  • Fast-dissolving: These Bromine Granules dissolve quickly, providing immediate and consistent sanitation.

  • Gentle on skin and eyes: Bromine is less harsh than chlorine, making it a more comfortable option for sensitive skin and eyes.

  • Long-lasting protection: Bromine lasts longer in the water, meaning you’ll need to use it less frequently than chlorine for effective water care.

Treatment:

1. Determine the Correct Dosage of Bromine Granules:

  • The recommended dosage of Bromine Granules typically ranges from 1-2 teaspoons per 1000L of hot tub water. Always refer to the product label for specific dosage instructions based on your hot tub size and water conditions.

2. Add Bromine Granules to the Hot Tub:

  • Measure the appropriate amount of Bromine Granules and sprinkle them evenly over the surface of your hot tub water. For best results, make sure to add the granules when the hot tub is not in use and the water is circulating.

3. Activate the Pump:

  • Turn on the hot tub pump to circulate the water for at least 5 minutes. This helps distribute the bromine evenly throughout the water and ensures proper dissolution of the granules.

4. Test Bromine Levels:

  • After allowing the Bromine Granules to dissolve, test the free bromine levels using bromine test strips. The ideal bromine level for hot tubs is typically between 3-5 ppm (parts per million). Adjust the dosage if needed based on your test results.

5. Wait Before Using the Hot Tub:

  • After adding Bromine Granules and adjusting the levels, allow at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before using your hot tub. This gives the bromine time to fully dissolve and sanitise the water, ensuring it’s safe and clean for use.

6. Regular Maintenance:

  • For ongoing hot tub care, add Bromine Granules regularly, typically every week or after heavy use, to maintain effective sanitization. Always monitor the bromine levels and adjust as necessary to keep the water in optimal condition.

  •

It is recommended to add Non-Chlorine Shock on a weekly basis to help with the oxidisation process (reduction in contaminants).

Storage and Handling:

  • Store in a cool, dry place to maintain the effectiveness and stability of the product.

  • Keep out of reach of children to ensure safety and prevent accidental ingestion or misuse.

  • Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. In case of contact, immediately rinse with water.

  • Always wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, and face protection when handling the product to minimize risk.

FAQs

What are Bromine Granules?

Bromine Granules are a fast-acting spa and pool sanitiser used to kill bacteria, control algae, and maintain clean, clear water. They dissolve quickly and deliver immediate bromine levels, making them ideal for hot tubs and spas.

How often should I shock my hot tub?

Shock weekly or after heavy use. Shocking converts bromamines (spent bromine) back into active bromine and helps maintain water clarity.

What is the shelf life?

Generally 2–3 years when stored properly. Granules should remain dry and intact for optimal performance.

What are the advantages of using bromine instead of chlorine?
  • Less odor than chlorine

  • Remains effective over a wider pH range

  • Creates fewer byproduct irritant

How are Bromine Granules different from Bromine Tablets?

  • Tablets dissolve slowly and maintain long-term bromine levels in a feeder.
Many spa owners use tablets for maintenance and granules for quick boosts or shocking.

How do I use Bromine Granules?
  • Turn on the circulation pump.

  • Dose accordingly

  • For spas, pre-dissolving in a bucket is recommended & can help avoid clouding.
