The multifunctional formula not only sanitises but also clarifies the water, leaving your hot tub sparkling clean and inviting. These tablets are ideal for hot tubs, spas, and small pools, as they simplify your water care routine by combining multiple treatments into one product.

Product Benefits:

  • All-in-one solution: Sanitises, clarifies, and prevents algae growth, reducing the need for multiple products.

  • Slow-dissolving formula: Provides consistent chlorine levels over time for long-lasting water protection.

  • Easy to use: Simply add the tablets to your floating dispenser for effortless maintenance.

  • Keeps water clear and clean: Helps prevent the buildup of bacteria, algae, and other contaminants.

  • Ideal for hot tubs, spas, and small pools: Perfect for all types of water features that require reliable sanitization.

Treatment:

  1. Determine the Correct Dosage:

Refer to the product label for the recommended dosage, typically 1-2 tablets per 1000 litres of water. The dosage may vary depending on your hot tub size and the product's concentration.
  2. Place Tablets in a Floating Dispenser:

Use a floating dispenser or chlorine floater specifically designed for tablets. This ensures a slow and even release of chlorine into the water. Avoid placing the tablets directly into the hot tub without a dispenser, as this could damage the surface of the spa.
  3. Adjust Dispenser for Even Chlorine Release:

Set the dispenser to the appropriate level for your water volume to ensure the chlorine is released gradually and consistently.
  4. Run the Pump:

Turn on the hot tub’s pump to help circulate the chlorine and ensure even distribution throughout the water. Let the pump run for at least 15-20 minutes.
  5. Check Chlorine Levels:

After a few hours, test the water using a testing strip to check the free chlorine levels. The ideal range is usually between 3-5 ppm (parts per million). Adjust the dispenser if necessary to maintain the correct chlorine levels.
  6. Regular Maintenance:

Replenish the chlorine tablets as needed, depending on the usage and water conditions. Typically, check the tablets weekly or after each use to ensure your hot tub water stays sanitized.
  7. Wait Before Use:

Allow at least 30 minutes after adding chlorine tablets before using your hot tub to ensure proper chlorine dispersion.

Storage and Handling:

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

  • Keep out of reach of children to ensure safety.

  • Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or clothing. In case of contact, rinse immediately with water.

  • Always wear protective gloves, clothing, eye protection, and face protection when handling the product to prevent exposure.

FAQs

Please see some of our most frequent questions and answers below.

What are chlorine tablets used for?

Chlorine tablets are used to sanitise water by killing bacteria, viruses, and algae. They maintain safe water conditions in:

  • Hot tubs

  • Swimming pools

  • Spas and paddling pools

They slowly dissolve, releasing chlorine steadily to keep water clean and clear.

How do I use chlorine tablets?
  • Do not drop directly into the spa or pool—they can bleach or damage surfaces.

  • Use a floating dispenser, chemical feeder, or skimmer basket (for pools).

  • Adjust the dispenser to control how fast tablets dissolve.

How many chlorine tablets should I use?

Depends on:

  • Volume of water

  • Tablet size

  • Temperature and usage

As a rough guide for hot tubs (1,000 L / 220 gallons):
Start with 1 tablet in a floating dispenser, then test and adjust.

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the label.

How often should I check chlorine levels?

Test daily (or before each use) in hot tubs.

Maintain:

  • Pools: 1–3 ppm free chlorine
  • Hot tubs: 3–5 ppm free chlorine

Use test strips or a digital tester.

Can I use chlorine tablets and granules together?

Yes — but not at the same time or in the same feeder.

  • Use granules for rapid increases or shock treatment.
  • Use tablets for steady maintenance.
Mixing different chlorine types (especially trichlor and cal-hypo) can cause dangerous reactions.
How long do chlorine tablets last?
  • In a pool feeder: 3–7 days
  • In a hot tub dispenser: 2–4 days (varies by temperature and flow)

Check regularly and replace as needed.

Do chlorine tablets expire?

Yes. Typically 2–3 years if stored:

  • In a cool, dry place
  • In a sealed container
  • Away from moisture and other chemicals

Old tablets lose potency and may dissolve unevenly.

Why does my water still go cloudy or green even with chlorine tablets?

Possible causes:

  • pH out of balance (ideal: 7.2–7.6)
  • High usage or organic load
  • Poor circulation or filtration

Check and balance your water chemistry.

Are chlorine tablets better than bromine?

Chlorine:

  • Faster sanitising
  • Lower cost
  • Better for pools and outdoor tubs

Bromine:

  • Gentler on skin and eyes
  • Works better in hot water (ideal for spas)
  • More stable at high temperatures and pH levels

Many hot tub owners prefer bromine, but chlorine tablets are perfectly safe if managed correctly.

What happens if I use too many chlorine tablets?

Over-chlorination can cause:

  • Strong chlorine smell
  • Skin or eye irritation
  • Damaged spa components (headrests, covers, filters)

If chlorine is too high:

  • Remove the dispenser
  • Leave the cover open to let chlorine dissipate
  • Dilute with fresh water if necessary

Please note: We do not recommend using chlorine tablets in acrylic hot tubs. The use of chlorine tablets in HTS hot tubs will void your warranty.
