Details

Perfect Balance Water Clarifier is a specialised product designed to enhance the clarity of your hot tub or spa water by removing microscopic particles, oils, and debris that cause the water to appear cloudy or hazy. It works by coagulating these small particles into larger clusters that can then be filtered out by your hot tub's filtration system.

Product Benefits

  • Improves Water Clarity:

It helps clear up cloudy or hazy water, giving your hot tub a clean, sparkling appearance. It removes fine particles that are too small for your filter to catch, making the water look clearer and more inviting.
  • Enhances Filtration:

By grouping tiny contaminants into larger particles, the clarifier makes it easier for your filtration system to catch and remove them. This improves the overall efficiency of your filtration system. Helps to prevent clogging of filters and reduces the need for frequent filter cleaning.
  • Removes Oils & Contaminants:

Perfect Balance Water Clarifier is especially useful in removing oils, lotions, body oils, and other contaminants that tend to float in the water, contributing to cloudy water. It’s effective against oils and other organic materials that are hard to filter out with a standard filtration system.
  • Safe & Non-Toxic:

Typically, water clarifiers like Perfect Balance are safe for hot tubs, spas, and pools. They are usually non-toxic and won't harm your skin or eyes when used according to the instructions.
  • Prevents Waterline Build-Up:

By removing oils and organic matter from the water, it can help prevent build-up along the waterline, which can lead to scum and unsightly stains.

Instructions

  1. Test Your Water:

Before using the clarifier, it’s always a good idea to test your hot tub water for pH, alkalinity, and sanitiser levels. Balancing your water chemistry first ensures that the clarifier works effectively.
  2. Add the Clarifier:

Add the recommended amount of Perfect Balance Water Clarifier directly into the water. The amount you need to use will vary depending on the size of your hot tub and the severity of the cloudiness.
Typical Dosage: Generally, you’ll add about 30 mL of clarifier per 1000 litres of water. Always follow the specific instructions on the bottle for the best results.
  3. Turn On the Jets:

Turn on your hot tub’s jets or circulation system. This helps to evenly distribute the clarifier throughout the water.
  4. Allow the Clarifier to Circulate:

Let the clarifier circulate through the hot tub water for 20 to 30 minutes with the jets running. During this time, the clarifier will start to bond with the tiny particles, making them large enough to be filtered out.
  5. Check the Water:

After the circulation time has passed, you can check your water clarity. If the water is still cloudy, you may want to repeat the process with a slightly higher dose of clarifier.
  6. Clean the Filters:

Once the particles have been coagulated, they will be removed by the filter. If your hot tub's filter is heavily loaded with debris, it’s a good idea to clean or replace it after using the clarifier.
  7. Wait and Enjoy:

After the clarifier has done its job, wait for the water to clear. Depending on the level of cloudiness, the water may take anywhere from a few hours to a day to fully clear up.

Storage and Handling

  • Follow Manufacturer’s Instructions: Always follow the dosage instructions provided on the label. Adding too much clarifier can lead to other issues, such as cloudiness from over-clumping particles.

  • Avoid Mixing with Other Chemicals: Don’t mix the clarifier with other chemicals unless specified. For example, adding the clarifier immediately after shock treatment may interfere with its effectiveness.

  • Keep Out of Reach of Children: As with all pool and spa chemicals, keep the clarifier out of reach of children.

FAQs

What is a hot tub water clarifier?

A water clarifier is a product designed to gather tiny, suspended particles in your hot tub so the filter can remove them more easily. This results in cleaner, clearer, and more sparkling water.

How does a water clarifier work?

Clarifiers act like magnets, causing microscopic particles (lotions, oils, dirt, organic debris) to clump together into larger particles that the filtration system can capture.

When should I use a clarifier in my hot tub?

Use a clarifier when your water looks:

  • Cloudy or dull

  • Slightly hazy even after balancing chemicals

  • Clear but lacking sparkle before guests arrive

How often can I add clarifier?

Most clarifiers can be added weekly as part of routine maintenance. Always follow the dosage instructions on your product label.

Will clarifiers fix green or foamy hot tub water?

No. Clarifiers only help with cloudy or dull water.

  • Green water usually requires shocking and rebalancing chlorine/bromine.

  • Foam may require an anti-foam product or water replacement.

Can I use too much clarifier?

Yes. Overuse can make the water even cloudier. If this happens:

  1. Stop adding clarifier

  2. Clean or replace the filter

  3. Allow the water to cycle and rebalance chemicals

How long does it take for a clarifier to work?

Most products start working within a few hours. In many cases, water clarity improves noticeably by the next day.
